Plasma Pen Q&A

What is Plasma Skin Tightening?

It is a revolutionary treatment that allows us to greatly reduce, even eliminate of wrinkles and saggy tissue. The way this is accomplished by applying small charges of Plasma energy into the skin. When in contact with this energy, the skin goes through a process of sublimation which is turning a solid to a gas, bypassing the liquid stage. This causes the skin to ‘evaporate’ at very superficial, non-invasive levels. When this happens, the remaining tissue is tightened. Another benefit of the treatment is that through this micro-damage done to the skin, we are stimulating fibroblasts to produce collagen for a younger, rejuvenated look.

How long does the treatment results last?

The results for Plasma Skin Tightening/Fibroblast are considered to be permanent, since we’re removing the excess tissue. However, this does not mean we’re stopping the aging process of the client. Results will vary by many factors like execution of the treatment, lifestyle, aftercare, genetics, etc. You can expect to have someone back for an area anywhere from 1 to 3 years.

How is Plasma actually created?

Plasma energy is created when the gases between the electrode and skin are ionized, this results in a carbonization reaction when applied into the skin.

How long does the treatment take to perform?

The treatment from start to finish takes about an hour to be completed.

Is everyone eligible for a treatment?

There are a few instances in which we cannot perform the treatment ranging from skin type to certain skin conditions. We do not recommend the treatment for Fitzpatrick skin types IV - VI since there is a present risk of hyper or hypo pigmentation. Also, if you have a pacemaker you are not eligible.

What is the downtime of the treatment?

After performing the treatment, little dots will be left in the face. These are not scabs, they are carbon dots, and will fall off within 5-7 days after the treatment. Most clients can return to work after the treatment, however, in sensitive areas it can be possible to experience a bit of swelling that can last from a couple hours to a couple of days.

How many treatments are needed usually?

Usually one treatment is needed to obtain very good results. However, with more mature skin it’s likely that 2 or 3 treatments are needed for optimal results. This is of course the case with 50, 60 year old and up. It’s important to know too that results vary by person due to a variety of factors.

 When can results be seen?

Results can be seen right away after performing the treatment. Final results are seen after 6 to 8 weeks after the skin has completed its regeneration process.
